The South Bay Greek Festival, an annual tradition since 1964, kicks off on Friday, July 10 and runs through Sunday, July 12 at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox.
All things Greek will be featured at this popular South Bay event: music, dancing, games for the kids and food….lots and lots of fabulous food. Baklava, souvlaki and gyros, oh my! Brio Coastal Bar & Kitchen, one of several new upscale restaurants that opened after the $300 million renovation of Torrance Del Amo Fashion Center, has permanently shuttered its location in the high-end fashion wing near Nordstrom, along Hawthorne Boulevard.
“Dear valued guests,” a sign on the restaurant’s door reads, “we have made the difficult decision to close this restaurant.
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you through the years,” it added.
The restaurant’s parent company, part of a chain of Mediterranean eateries based in Florida, did not respond to a request for comment.
The restaurant was one of several, including trendy Din Tai Fung and Mexican eatery Frida, that opened in the wake of the mall’s 2015 make-over, creating a new high-end restaurant row that has seen mixed success.
